She told me that the circuit panel did not work exactly 10 days after warranty expired. A technician from Whirlpool came to check this morning. He said the motor was not working and that we needed a new one. With the new motor costs $283 and the labour cost $149, we will have to pay $431 + tax = $487.03. This dishwasher cost us $638.75 including installation last year and is only good for one year and ten days! Very disappointed. Was it the intention of the manufacturer to make a dishwasher that could only last for a year?

Unfortunately, it stopped working only three weeks after the warranty expired. I take good care of my appliances, and it’s extremely frustrating that a major brand product would fail so quickly. When I contacted Whirlpool, instead of offering a solution, I was pressured to purchase an additional warranty to cover repairs — even though the timing of the breakdown clearly points to poor product reliability. For a dishwasher at this price point, I expected better quality and better customer support. I chose Whirlpool because of its reputation, but this experience has made me reconsider. If you are shopping for a dishwasher, I recommend thinking carefully about long-term reliability and post-warranty support before purchasing.
