Rated 3 out of 5 by tkmax from Early days and mixed results Have had the unit for 3 months now and time for a review. washer - works well. the reservoir for detergent is a nice touch and seems to work well and not too noisy. Dryer - worked well first few weeks. We have another LG heat pump dryer at other place and it dries the same. Takes a little longer and initial dampness disappears quickly when exposed to air. My big beef is dryer has since started to make a knocking sound each drum turn while spinning counterclockwise. Noise starts about 10 minutes after start of dryer cycle and continues to end..every counterclockwise drum turn. Had a Whirlpool deisgnated service tech in who confirmed the noise and said he would send it to Whirlpool to see if they are going to do anything about it. No response since which is annoying. He seemed to think perhaps issue with a drum weld or maybe roller. Anyway disappointing lack of follow up. Maybe they need it to fail completely before responding. If they dont address it then i'd go another brand next time.

I am not at all impressed with the design of this machine for the following reasons: The user manual that accompanies this unit is lacking in helpfulness. I actually had to have a service call because I could not determine how to cancel a function. The manual said to press and hold the power button without showing the symbol for the power button. To me, holding down the power button meant holding down the button where the original request was made. The service person who came had difficulty determining this as well. The “App” screen does not provide enough information nor does it offer understandable options. For instance, I have no idea what a temperature will be for the washing machine will be if I chose a #4. There are no temperature choices for the dryer at all. The little drawer that allows me to put in laundry detergent and fabric softener does not let me know if there is or is not a place to add bleach. That is a major oversite which is also not addressed int eh user’s manual and there is no answer to this question on-line. The compressor reservoir access point forces me to get on my hands and knees to empty the compressor. That is a horrible design flaw. The hose to use for this function is of good quality, however the clips that hold it in place are ridged and sharp, making it difficult and dangerous to remove. This entire portion of the machine is not well thought out, particularly for seniors or disabled people. The dryer cannot seem to produce a piece of laundry that “feels dry” nor can it produce laundry that is less wrinkled when it comes out than it is when it goes in. I have hanged my sheets on my clothes line for hours in the sun on a breezy day. They feel completely dry when I bring them in. If I put them in the dryer afterward to soften them up, they are a wrinkled mess and for some reason the reservoir needs to be emptied. When I empty the reservoir after this, the water in it is slightly blue, the same colour as my laundry detergent. Why is that? When I show this machine to my friends and demonstrate the total lack of ease in dealing with the condenser’s reservoir they all agree with this summation: This machine was designed by an Urban youth who cannot stop playing with the apps on their phone and has at best watched someone do the laundry but has never seen someone use a clothes line. I would not recommend it to anyone and will return to the place from which I purchased it and let them know. I bought this machine without seeing it except on-line and I settled on this one because it fit into the space I have available. The machine does produce clean clothes. I would recommend that you produce a series of videos to help people understand this machine however I am sure that if you have a video that demonstrates emptying the condenser reservoir, very few people will be interested in buying this unit.
