What is a Side-by-Side Fridge?

A side-by-Side refrigerator has two separate full-height compartments (freezer and fridge), each compartment with its own door. Benefits include:

• Can offer more freezer space (great for families who buy more freezer items).
• Easily access freezer foods.
• Offer adjustable shelves and door bins to help keep everything organized.
• With each compartment’s smaller width capacity, it may make it difficult to fit wide trays and platters.
• Typically 20-26 cubic feet of total volume.

Freestanding Fridges

Free-standing fridges offer both standard and counter-depth options to meet your style and storage needs. They are typically easier to install and are generally more affordable than a built-in model. Typically, no custom cabinetry is required for free-standing refrigerators.
The most common configurations are: Side-by-Side, Top Freezer, Bottom Freezer and French Door.

Built-in Fridges

Generally, built-In refrigerators are taller than standard models to make up for the space lost in depth. They also typically offer widths up to 48 inches (122cm) to meet your storage needs. Come in a variety of styles like French Door, Bottom Freezers and Side-by-Side.
This style is commonly designed to more seamlessly integrate with your existing kitchen.

What is the difference between counter-depth and standard depth?

Most kitchens usually feature either a counter-depth refrigerator or a standard-depth refrigerator. Both can make a visual impact and come in many of the same styles. The main difference is the unit's depth and whether or not it will align with your existing cabinetry.

Counter-Depth Refrigerators

A counter-depth refrigerator offers a lower design profile for your kitchen space. You can choose between two counter-depth styles: freestanding and built-in. Typically, freestanding is roughly 28" (71cm) deep. Built-in, on the other hand, is generally about 24-25" (61-63.5cm) deep and is usually taller due to its shallower depth.

Standard Depth Refrigerators

Also known as a full-depth refrigerator, standard-depth units are usually closer to 35-36” (89-91cm) deep, including doors and handles.
